Horse Saddle Pads
Have you ever wondered why people who ride horse put blankets or pads underneath the saddles? What purpose does it serve? There are many reasons why people use horse saddle pads. Think of it as buying a car; you want to it to perform its best. You want the very best accessories to help the car to do this; the same goes for your horse. Having the right equipment will allow your horse to perform at their very best. How does this work, you may ask? In this article we will discuss how horse saddle pads add comfort and how they can lengthen riding time.
The key to a rider's endurance is comfort; and the key to a horse's comfort is using saddle pads that have the right design and fit over the horse correctly. The use of these pads takes pressure off of the horse and saddle. The saddle itself needs to sit well over the pad and the horse. If it does not then two weeks after the new pad is placed new pressure points will appear in different locations. Pressure created from the saddle may alter the flow of blood in the horses' back depending on the movement of the horse and the rider.
Before placing a saddle pad on the horse, you want to make sure that it is the right one for the horse. A pad that is too thick or too thin may still cause damage to the horse in one way or another. They need to be able to provide a cushion on the areas that require it; and allow for equal weight distribution over the back of the horse. The thickness of the pad can also be determined by the condition of the horse. A thick pad can make the saddle feel unstable in some horses; although this type of pad can be good for horses with poor or lacking muscles.
The pain that horse may be feeling due to a poorly placed horse saddle pad can become unbearable and will slow down the horses' performance and endurance. They will not be able to handle the weight of the saddle and rider for long periods of time. All in all; horse saddle pads can help the comfort of the horse to be good and will allow them to be able to handle the pressure of the weight of both saddle and rider, allowing for longer riding times and better performance.
