how do i go about doing a hardship on my mini mare?
MY EXPERIENCE: In the past i have owned Reg Quarter horses, been to school for equine science,( grad with honors) and i have a good eye for a nicely built Animal. now i happened to stumble across this beautiful black and white Miniature mare. She is super smart, floats when she moves, a joy to be around and i think she would be stunning in a show ring. however, she is not reg.
and i have no idea who the parents are. she stands 34 inches tall. so I'm thinking AMHR. I read the website, but if someone could dumb it down for me a bit? this is my first time getting into miniature horses. ( yes i have done my homework on it.) I really think this mare has potential. I just need help with this question. (and no, I'm not a backyard breeder.) I just want more options when i go to a show.
I haven't registered any Minis but from looking at the website:
1) You need to fill out all the data that you know on a registration form
2) Get photos (See the AMHR for photo guidelines)
3) DNA testing has to be done
4) Send in all paperwork/pictures/DNA results with required Fees
5) And inspector will come verify her height/color/etc
And you'll have a registered Mare!
You might also try registering her Pinto...it's a bit easier being a color registry, and the show circuit seems fun. My mom and I are going to get back into showing and we'll be going Pinto.
Good Luck!!
