getting on the equestrian team in college.?
I really would like to ride when I go to college Truman State in MO has one and It has this thing were you ride a different horse every time you go to a horse show I have my own horse and i've been riding english forever but ui don't compete a lot but I ride a lot.Is it really hard to get on the equestrian teams?And do they ever take like bigener riders?
and wht schools offer IHSA and IMHO??
IHSA (the association you're thinking of) does take beginners. They'll take anyone, from someone who's never ridden before to someone who's competing at A level shows.
Anyway, YES, you do ride a different horse at shows, and I think that's fantastic. It means that nobody can but a $100,000 horse and win just because of that. IHSA judges only your equitation and your ability to ride a strange horse. IMHO, it's the fairest type of horse show there is.
As for how hard it is, it depends on the school. Anyone can be on the team, but sometimes they limit who can show. For example, Penn State has around 100 students on its equestrian team so they need to limit who can show. Other schools, like Goucher college, have fewer students and almost everyone can show.
