Hay Barn Plans - 3 Items You Absolutely Must Consider Before Beginning Construction
Out of all the barns you can construct, the hay barn is one of the least complicated. It is usually of a post frame construction, allowing plenty of space within where things can easily be stored such as large bales of hay or equipment. Normally when you look at hay barn plans you will notice that three sides are enclosed and the fourth is open air allowing hay to be easily stacked or removed from the interior.
If you are thinking of building your own hay shed, using blueprints can make the task a great deal easier. However there are a few items that you should consider when constructing such a structure using hay barn floor plans.
#1 - Means Of Entry
When looking at the plans you must ensure that they allow you a means of entry to the interior of the hay barn throughout the year. So make sure that you choose a location to put your hay barn where the earth around won't become too saturated when the weather turns inclement. Plus, of course, you must make sure that there is plenty of space around the structure to allow you to maneuver trucks in and out of it easily.
#2 - Storm Water
It is vital that the location where the shed is to be built has adequate drainage so that no storm water is able to compile around it. Plus any water you have going into the barn should be diverted away from it. If you can construct the barn on some property that is somewhat at an angle, that would really be beneficial to you. Also, it would ensure that any water will not be absorbed by the lumber in the barn which may cause it to rot and have to be repaired.
#3 - Orientation of the Building
It is vital that you make sure that you look at which direction the wind blows towards where you are intending to build your shed. Then, using your hay barn floor plans, make sure that the doorway to it is located on the side opposite to where the wind will be hardest. Not only will this ensure that the contents within the barn are protected, it is going to reduce the amount of wind loads placed upon it.
If you opt for free barn plans, or attempt to build the barn with no plans, you're going to have to figure all of these items out by yourself, which could be disasterouos. Constructing with good hay barn floor plans will ensure that all of these items are addressed, and that your project is not only successful, but under budget as well.

Pole barns are one of the simplest structure you can ever work on. From a builder's perspective, a top notch pole barn house plans would make the process even more a breeze. In fact, I daresay that of all barn layout available these kind of barn structure is the easiest. Yes, even a novice builder can start on this project.
