canadian horse jumping

canadian horse jumping
When should I get a horse?

I have one year of age 22 and Arabic because it is good for departures, but I want to do some jumps. My mother has a six year old Canadian (not the Canadian warmblood, she can be closer to a small draft horse) that have begun to jump. should obtain as a thoroughbred or warm-blooded or should follow the other horses I have?

it depends on you and how you feel about getting a horse completely different points you have to think like how my mom would feel if I want another horseback? I can get it? and stuff like that:) Always remember to get a new horse, try for what you are wanting to use it as such if it is good in flat work, jump, jump over rough terrain ETC ect sorry if he had no sense, and good luck for the future: D ps thoroghbreads are very good jumpers:)

A modern artist blacksmith will need many abilities to achieve success at their trade. Blacksmithing is not the same as being a farrier who is someone that shoes horses. A blacksmith must be able to work essentially by themselves, and is mechanically inclined. There'll be fitting and shaping metal to drawings that they prepare.

They will also require a good knowledge of metallurgy and welding. Hammering hot steel needs a certain quantity of endurance and strength, and be ready to put up with both heat and mud. A smith also has to make contact with their clients to develop designs and do installations. There's required a sustained angle of problem solving as you are working and very high attention to detail.
Many young people are looking at normal crafts as being a possible way to earn a living. Although this is possible blacksmithing might not be the easiest choice in this regard. It takes a few years for a blacksmith to build up their skills to a good quality and an effectual level. Smithing is also tool heavy as there are lots of tools that are required for different jobs.

There are also few apprenticeships available to youngsters. Most blacksmiths work alone or possibly in tiny shops with one other aid. These positions do not come available often . A young person starting out has to make his or her own business as well as learn the skills required. Is the building big enough and is it zoned for commercial work? Can heavy equipment and products be moved around easily? Are there noise restrictions in the area? All these questions have to be answered before you set up a blacksmith shop. You will be your own employer, but you will have to multi-task many jobs. When you are established your income can be reasonable but expect three to 5 years to get established in this occupation. .

horse jumping accidents

horse jumping accidents
Whjy are people under the impression that a horse has to be at least 3 before it is broke?

Yes, I agree, no heavy jumping/barrel racing/etc should be done before 3, but racehorses are broke when they are 1 y/o and the majority end up fine. Many of those who don't are only bad because of a racing accident that could happen to a 5 y/o horse. We use OTT (off the track) racehorses as the barn I ride for Hunter/Jumper, and they were broke at 1, and they are still extremely active jumping at ages over 12!
Jennifer if you are under the impression that we drug our horses, you are SADLY mistaken. Our horses recieve nothing but water, treats, sweet feed, hay, and 4-in-1
Lisa- I am a bit confused, are you with me on this question, or against me? :S
Lisa- Thanks fo rclearing that up! ;)
Yo_horse, as I already mentioned, racing accidents that happen to 3 year olds can just as easily happen to 5, 8, or 15 year olds!

Horsejumper - you are going to be wasting your breath because most people are uniformed when talking about racing etc and they read some blurb or watch Pharlap and then every TB that has ever seen a track has been brutalized, drugged etc.
Most TB's that will be flat horses are broken as "yearlings" but are actually started right before their 2 yr old year. It's no different for polo ponies, reiners, WP etc. WP show weanlings on longe line but I don't see half as many complaints or criticisms leveled at them? TB's that will go National Hunt (hurdles or chasing) are not usually started until 4 or 5. In both cases, if the horse is backward or immature for it's age, they are turned away for another 6 months, year, whatever. Everyone assumes that every TB foal that hits the ground will be broken and raced as a 2 year old and that is simply not true. I find it so frustrating having to explain this to people. It's also true that a lot of the injuries that they sustain such as bowed tendons, suspensories etc are just as common in reining, polo, jumping etc. as they are in racing.
I have been involved in racing all my life. My father was a steeplechase jockey and now trains. I have worked the majority of my life within the racing industry and the fact that people claim all the horses are drugged etc is a bit rude. Doping and other such cheat tactics are present in all horse sports. The racing industry is more heavily regulated than any other equine sport. From animal welfare, medications, race fixing, jockey riding and conduct, trainer practices - everything is scrutinized. While I appreciate that not everyone likes racing, I do think that people should know a little more about what goes on from personal experience rather making big sweeping blanket statements such as every TB is broken as a yearling.
