The best home for horses' The Blue spruce farm
Blue Spruce farm located in Redmond, WA has a rich historical heritage spanning over years spent in providing housing, veterinary care and thoroughbred breeding. Owned by the Nicholls family as of now the farm was originally started by Henry and Elizabeth Busscher during the 1920's. Later in 1930 they sold the farm to Helen Turcotte who used the 40 acres farm as a boarding for young ladies and also organized summer and winter camps on the farm. She made the stay on the farm very interesting for the ladies by including a milking parlor, chicken house, pig barn and horse stables as a part of their farm experience.
Helen Turcotte sold the farm to the current owners Max and Mary Nicholls in 1958. The new owners transformed the farm and used it for thoroughbred breeding and as a veterinary hospital. Later in 2001 after the demise of max Nicholls the farm was converted into a boarding stable.
The farm has an impressible array of facilities for riders and horses of all ages and breeds. The farm has twenty six stalls of 12'x12' in 3 barns, 8 large paddocks with shelter, one sand footing round pen, one sand footing lighted all weather arena, three locked tack rooms with saddle and bridle racks and shelves and 2 homes on the farm for the 24 hour caretakers. The farm also has an impressive 26 acres of cross fenced green pastures.
The farm has a historic lower barn that has a large tack room, seven stalls, hay and grain storage, blanket and lovely wooden flooring on the aisles. The outdoor sand arena is completely conditioned for water run off. It is equipped with dressage letters and jumping equipment and can also be lighted for riding in the evenings.
Other than the lush grass pastures the farm also caters to the horses on diet or those that have been injured by providing dry paddocks. These paddocks are 12'X12' and have rubber mats for feeding. These rubber mats reach up to the shelter for easy access for the horses. These dry paddocks are specially built to stay dry during winters.
The owners of the Blue Spruce Farm strongly believe in the well being and health of the horses that stay at their boarding and allow them to be out in the open and grow healthy naturally. The horses are let out in small groups for easy management. For their safety and to avoid any mishap the farm has a safety mesh and metal pipe fencing. The pastures are cross fenced too for complete safety.
Blue Spruce Farm is a one-stop boarding centre for horses with utmost care given to the horses their. They have an experienced staff that takes care of the feeding, grooming and overall care of the horse. The stay there is inclusive of the 2-3 hay feedings, fresh drinking water, grains and minerals twice a day. It is easily the best boarding facility for horses you would ever find.

With all of his siblings dead and buried, Jody yearns to have a pet of some sort. When Pa is forced by circumstances to kill a doe, the animal's fawn-the yearling of the title-is adopted by Jody. The boy's love for the animal does not alter the fact that the fawn is eating all of the Baxters' crops. Sadly, Pa tells Jody that he must kill the yearling before all their crops are destroyed. Jody can't bring himself to do this, so he sets the animal free in the wilds. Time and again, however, the yearling returns to the farm. Finally, Ma Baxter, who'd been against having the fawn on the property in the first place, shoots and wounds the animal. Now, Jody has no choice: rather than see his beloved yearling writhe in agony, he kills it. Though this results in a rift between himself and his family, Jody at last realizes that, by taking the responsiblity of saving the farm at the expense of his own feelings, he has also taken the first step towards manhood. He himself is a yearling no more. MGM had intended to film The Yearling in 1941 with a different cast and director, but a series of personality clashes delayed production for five years. Watching the inspired performances of Gregory Peck, Jane Wyman and Claude Jarman Jr., it is nearly impossible to imagine the film with its originally intended cast of Spencer Tracy, Anne Revere and the unknown Gene Eckman. The studio had also intended to lens the film on location in Florida, but in the end it proved more practical and expedient to shoot in the studio and its environs. Oscars went to the Technicolor photography of Charles Rosher, Leonard Smith and Arthur Arling, and to the art direction/set decoration work of Cedric Gibbons, Paul Groesse and Edwin B. Willis. Advance your horseback riding skills and turn into a better rider
It's in our human nature to desire for the best performance in every activity. When riding a horse you are striving to achieve the level of a great rider. -The first thing you should do to become better horse rider is to look for appropriate books that contain the fundamental information about the horses. The more you know about horses, the more you'll be self-assured in the saddle. Reading won't make you a better rider, if you are not participating in the actual riding, but will inform you about the basics. Knowing the riding basics can teach you and set up for the real thing.
-Observation of the other riders is a great way for learning. You will get the real image of good and bad posture. Using the visual sense for learning is known as one of the positive human characteristics. Therefore, observe the good riders, pay attention to the approach that they use for communication with their horses and the horse's reactions on their commands. So, when you start riding you'll know what you are supposed to do, instead of waiting for instructions. Don't get me wrong. It's not that you should be your own trainer, but it's much easier if you have the main picture of jumping before actual jump. The more you know what good riders do, the more you'll be able to make yourself perform like them.
- One of the best ways of learning is by taking a note down from the trainer's advises. When something is written down on a paper it will stay much longer in the human's mind. Therefore, it's good to write down all advises that you get from the trainer, starting from safety tips, to keeping the shoulders back, the wrists straight, the head up, eyes forward and posting the correct diagonal. It's a lot easier when you know these tips and then practice them.
-Work on improving your balance. Balance is essential in riding as it in every sport discipline. In horse riding you need the balance to avoid getting off the saddle. To achieve good balance try to work with the horse without reins and stirrups. Call a friend (or the trainer) that can assist you as the horse should be held on a lunge.
It's good to mention that you can work on improving the balance even if you are not on a horse back, by finding particular exercises made especially for this purpose.
-Get some more practice. Although you know all the rules and tips for riding, you've probably heard that "practice makes things perfect", so get out and start practicing. Observing the other riders will get you ahead with the knowledge, but you must apply what you have learned and observed. You'll get the real experience by practicing what you've learned. Maybe you'll be able to perform all the tricks you make in the horse games. Who knows...
Don't feel bad if you face with difficulties in the learning process. You really need to ride more often to be able to advance. Have in mind that those who are really good, spend a lot of time to get there. As long as you are focused all the way and show interest and love in what you are doing, the success will be there on your doorstep.
